Weston ZBA Continues Anza Permit Hearing After Board's Own Paperwork Lapse
WESTON — October 4, 2022 — Weston ZBA delays resolution of 10 North Avenue commercial storage dispute after internal paperwork lapse. The Zoning Board of Appeals voted 3-0 at its October 4 meeting to continue a hearing on applicant James V. Anza's commercial special permit and related building inspector appeal to October 17 at 7:30 p.m. Chair Alan Rose acknowledged the board had never formally issued a written permit despite having voted unanimously to grant it at a prior session, saying "it's now clear to me that we should have gone ahead and issued the permit." Building Inspector John Fields confirmed he needed the written document before he could determine which of nine identified zoning violations were rendered moot by the board's grant — a question the board said the permit addressed for only two and a half of the nine items. ZBA Administrator Val Geary was directed to issue the permit within one week so that Fields and the applicant's attorney could meet ahead of the October 17 continuation.
