Weston ZBA Approves Landscaping Changes at 269 North Ave. in 2-1 Vote

WESTON — August 28, 2024 — Weston's Zoning Board of Appeals voted 2-1 to find revised landscaping and pathway lighting changes at a Chapter 40B project at 269 North Avenue insubstantial, allowing them to take effect without a new public hearing. Chair Jane Fisher Carlson and Associate Member Laura Mintz voted in favor; Member Stephen J. Larocque dissented, citing concerns about the project's broader design compliance. Attorney Adam Costa, representing 269 North Avenue LLC, presented supplemental plans that preserved a 24-inch-diameter boundary tree, restored foundation plantings to rear buildings C, D, and E, and added six 350-lumen dark-sky bollard lights along a relocated pedestrian path. The board conditioned its finding on the applicant adding the large tree to a 2017 tree protection plan, which the applicant said had already been done.
