Weston Sets January 13 Special Election on Expanding Select Board to Five Members

WESTON — November 13, 2025 — Weston Select Board sets January 13 special election hours for vote on expanding the board from three to five members. The board voted unanimously Thursday to establish election day hours of 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with early in-person voting running January 5 through 9 at Town Hall. Chair Lise N. Revers declined a proposal by member John F. McDonald to include a formal board endorsement in the ballot explanation, saying it was "not appropriate" to weigh in formally on a question that is "about us." The board also unanimously signed an amended development agreement with Boston Properties tied to the town's recent adoption of MBTA 3A Communities Act zoning, approved by roughly 90 percent of voters at special town meeting. Separately, energy consultant Paul Gromer of Peregrine Energy Group reported that the town's Weston Power Choice municipal aggregation program has saved participants a combined $1.4 million since launching about 18 months ago, with 75 percent of utility accounts enrolled; the current supply contract runs through December 2026.
