Weston Select Board approves Sudbury Road cell site, delays Love Lane decision

WESTON — November 25, 2025 — Weston Select Board approves one AT&T small cell site and delays another over proximity concerns. The three-member board — Chair Lise N. Revers and members John F. McDonald and Alfred L. Aydelott — voted unanimously November 25 to grant AT&T permission to install a small cell wireless facility on pole number 92-A on Sudbury Road, while continuing a public hearing on a second proposed installation near 121 Love Lane to January 13, 2026. Attorney Ed Perry of Brown Rudnick, representing AT&T operator New Cingular Wireless PCS LLC, said the Love Lane site projects radiofrequency emissions at 33.6 percent of the FCC maximum and sits approximately 60 feet from the nearest home, but acknowledged the driveway setback may fall short of the town's informal 20-foot guideline. Abutters Scott Wu of 121 Love Lane and a neighbor at 117 Love Lane, both physicians, said children wait for school buses in driveways near the proposed location and urged the board to require a more thorough alternatives analysis. The board also unanimously appointed retired Fidelity analyst Michael McCarthy to the Agricultural Commission and unanimously authorized minor Senate-requested changes to House Bill 4031, a special act allowing police retirees to work paid details up to age 70.
