Weston Select Board Rejects Case Building Bids, Orders Revised Sale Process
WESTON — April 11, 2025 — Weston Select Board rejected all bids for the Case buildings and will revise its sale RFP before returning to market, Town Manager Leon Gaumond reported in his April 11 Select Board Rewind video recap. The board also unanimously approved Gaumond's recommendation to appoint Richard Sullivan, a more-than-20-year town employee and former deputy DPW director, as the new Department of Public Works director. In a separate April 9 special session on the Norumbega Road project, consultants from Howard Stein Hudson presented design concepts, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation signaled it is "very interested in advancing the project at their own cost," Gaumond said. The board deferred positions on the floodplain, MBTA 3A zoning, and Central Cemetery preservation articles until its next meeting, rescheduled to April 29 — which will also be the final meeting for departing board member Lori Bent.
