Weston School Committee reorganizes with Selvig as Chair

Weston School Committee elects officers at reorganizational meeting. The committee unanimously elected Daina Selvig as Chair and Tiao Xie as Vice Chair at its May 11 meeting held via Zoom, with Derrek Joyce appointed Secretary. The committee approved subcommittee assignments and warrant-signing authority in separate unanimous votes.
In a presentation on New England Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation findings, High School Principal Sue Bairstow and Assistant Principal Todd Whitten outlined facility and resource gaps the district has ten years to address, including additional breakout spaces for students and confidential conversation spaces for staff.
