WESTON — February 25, 2026 — Weston Planning Board opens first formal public hearing on a 215-unit age-restricted senior housing project at 300 Wellesley Street, signaling the proposal will not reach the May town meeting ballot. HYM Investment Group LLC, the applicant, presented updated setbacks — 100 feet minimum lot-line and 125 feet from the single-family district — and extended its 10 percent affordability pledge to include assisted-living units. Abutters including Chris Cavanaugh of 1 Colonial Way and Ken Morrison of 301 Wellesley Street raised objections to scale, traffic, tree removal, and affordable housing reliability, with Morrison citing a Brookline project in which HYM-affiliated investors replaced 18 required affordable units with a cash payment. Chair Leslie Glynn said the board cannot craft a revised bylaw in time for the March 24 warrant close, noting a failed vote would bar resubmission for two years.
