Weston Planning Board closes 51 Willard hearing, approves two site plan amendments
WESTON -- September 17, 2025, Weston Planning Board closes 51 Willard flex subdivision hearing and approves two downtown site plan amendments. The board voted 5-0 to close the public hearing on the proposed two-lot flexible subdivision at 51 Willard Street, with a decision expected at the October 1 meeting; applicant team representatives Trina from DND, engineer Bill Doyle, and landscape architect Karen Sebastian presented a revised plan that rotated the lower lot's house roughly five degrees, saving two large oak trees and lifting total new plantings on Lot 2 to 25 trees with a combined lumen count of just 12,060 across both lots. The board voted 4-0 to approve an awning installation for property owner Steve Pesek at 409 Boston Post Road, deferring dimensional reconciliation to the building permit stage, and 4-0 to approve a gate and fencing amendment at 91 Dean Road, where Vice Chair Alex Selvig described the four-foot black mesh perimeter fence as a security necessity for a homeowner who has received threats. The board also voted 5-0 to forward a zoning bylaw amendment clarifying the earth movement definition to the town moderator, and received a 45-percent design update on three water storage tanks, with a 60-percent submission targeted for mid-November and board comments due September 26.
