Weston Planning Board Clears Porch Addition, Willard Road Subdivision Decision

WESTON — October 1, 2025 — Weston Planning Board unanimously approved a front-porch addition at 56 Westland Road and finalized a two-lot subdivision decision for 51 Willard Road at its October 1 meeting. Chair Leslie Glynn and Town Planner Emai Ayu steered both items to 5-0 votes, with Vice Chair Alex Selvig noting the Westland Road applicants were "contrite" about an unpermitted gravel parking area they agreed to remove and replant with screened landscaping. The Willard Road decision drew the longer debate: developer representative Trina, of firm DND, resisted a formal homeowners association for a shared stormwater basin, arguing prescriptive agreements require costly renegotiation each time a lot sells. The board reached a compromise requiring a private cost-sharing and maintenance agreement between the two future property owners, satisfying the town's MS4 stormwater compliance obligations without mandating a full HOA structure. A presentation on proposed lighting regulations was postponed after the board's consultant fell ill, and the board also approved its September 3 meeting minutes while holding the September 17 minutes to October 22.
