Weston panel votes for Sherborn Circle speed signs, orders stop-sign study

WESTON — October 23, 2025 — Weston Traffic and Sidewalk Committee votes to add speed limit signs and study a stop sign on Sherborn Circle. The committee voted unanimously Thursday to direct Public Works to install 25-mile-per-hour signs at the Winter Street and Bogle Street entrances to the neighborhood loop, with placement to be determined by the department, and to conduct a formal stop-sign warrant analysis at the Tyler Road approach to Sherborn Circle. Resident Tony, who lives on the circle, told the board that police speed-monitoring data collected in late August — showing at least one vehicle traveling 46 miles per hour — undercounted the problem because school was not yet in session; he said a speeding vehicle passed his home at an estimated 45 mph the day before the meeting. Town Engineer Jason Lavoie said the warrant count could use existing police traffic-monitoring equipment to limit cost. Separately, outgoing Chair Jay Doyle, who said he has exceeded the Select Board's three-year chairmanship limit, nominated member Ann Weedy as his successor, but the vote was deferred to the panel's November 20 in-person meeting after two members requested more time.
