Weston Conservation Commission flags unpermitted buffer clearing, issues compliance certificates
WESTON — June 20, 2023 — Weston Conservation Commission issues four compliance certificates and flags unpermitted buffer work at a property under sale contract. At the June 20 meeting, Chair Joe Berman and commissioners voted unanimously to clear 162 Winter Street, 31 Green Lane, 2 Legion Road, and 18 Skating Pond Road — but paired the Skating Pond certificate with a conservation agent notice of violation after staff discovered roughly 1,800 square feet of unpermitted vegetation clearing and loam fill within a 25-foot no-disturb zone near Route 20, work that Jordan said must be disclosed to buyers with a sale closing reportedly scheduled within days. The commission also voted by unanimous consent to recommend Robert Mosher to the Select Board for appointment as a new member, continued the 120 Radcliffe Road and 169 Ridgeway Road hearings to July 11, and received word that the WFTA's long-time trails manager Lynn Adkins had resigned, leaving trail maintenance to be handled on an improvised basis through summer 2023.
