Weston Conservation Commission approves new College Pond trail at Burchard Park

WESTON — June 25, 2025 — Weston Conservation Commission unanimously approves a new woodland trail along College Pond's western shore. Associate member Joel Angelilo proposed the trail at the June 25 meeting, describing an area currently reachable only by bushwhacking that would open views of rock formations and the pond's southwest shoreline; the commission estimated the summer trail crew could complete it in roughly 10 hours. Chair Rees Tulloss presided over six unanimous votes, which also included issuing an order of conditions for a driveway and retaining wall project at 57 Oxbow Road with two years of monitoring requirements, and closing out certificates of compliance for 57-59 Golden Ball Road and 200 South Avenue, the latter for a 2016 gas-line permit under which no work was ever done. Staff also reported the town's Open Space and Recreation Plan public survey is set for release this week at WestonOSRP.com, with public forums planned for September and October.
