Weston committee will commission engineered study of Highland Street intersection

WESTON — January 19, 2022 — Weston Traffic and Sidewalk Committee commits to long-sought engineering study of the Highland Street intersection. Bruce Pastor, representing the 769-home Highland Meadows Association, told the committee his group's October letter to town officials had gone unanswered and called the Route 20/Boston Post Road junction "really the biggest traffic problem in Weston today." Chair Jay Doyle said the town will engage its own traffic engineers this year rather than rely on developer-driven studies, modeled on the Love Lane and Merriam Street/Route 117 process. DPW's Steve Fogg confirmed committee funds match the consultant budget and work can begin immediately. The committee also confirmed a Feb. 15 virtual MassDOT design public hearing on the Route 20 reconstruction at Wellesley Street and Windsor Way, and approved November and December 2021 minutes.
