Water Tank Working Group endorses all three Special Town Meeting articles in split votes

WESTON — March 5, 2025 — Weston Water Tank Working Group splits 2-0-1 on land swap and $39.6 million construction ask before March 12 town meeting. Working Group Chair Tom Palmer and member Lori Bent voted to endorse all three articles, but Select Board Chair Lise Revers abstained on the Article 97 land swap and on the construction-funding motion of Article 3, citing incomplete appraisals on the swap parcels and what she called a missed opportunity to mediate with Cat Rock abutters. "I'm a fiscal conservative and I believe that you ask for town funds when you need them and we don't need them now," Revers said. Total project cost is $43.3 million; the new ask is $4.5 million in free cash plus $37.1 million in enterprise-fund borrowing. Bidder Stantec has dropped out of the Owner's Project Manager search; bids are due March 14.
