Historical Commission opens demolition delay on 1911 Windsor Duck House

WESTON — February 2, 2021 — Weston Historical Commission opens demolition delay on the 1911 Windsor Duck House. Members voted 7-0 to declare 283 Meadowbrook Road historically significant after Co-Chair Phyllis Halpern read the Form B record describing the only known duck-hunting lodge built in Weston. Beth Nolan, representing owner Paul Mistone, told the commission the owners will spend the year working with architects, citing a foundation that must be removed and a need to make the home handicapped-accessible. The commission also approved Azek-trimmed window replacements at the 1690 colonial at 71 Lexington Street, and cleared a barn-style addition at 36 Bullard Road for owners Ryan and Stephanie Corcoran contingent on Building Commissioner John Field's accessory-apartment determination. Member John Thompson said revised 405 North Avenue plans were "going backwards," and that hearing was continued to March 2.
