Conservation Commission closes 667 Wellesley hearing with conditional order of conditions

WESTON — December 15, 2020 — Weston commission closes 667 Wellesley riverfront hearing on 6-0-1 vote. The Conservation Commission Dec. 15 issued an order of conditions for a teardown-rebuild at 667 Wellesley Street contingent on Conservation Administrator Michelle's approval of a final plan, allowing demolition to proceed before the Jan. 5 follow-up review. Engineer Bill Doyle sketched a late redesign pulling the limit of work back from a small isolated wetland, cutting riverfront disturbance from 7,532 square feet toward 6,500 — below the 8,233-square-foot regulatory cap representing 10 percent of the 82,332-square-foot lot's riverfront area. Member Ellen Freeman Roth abstained: "I understand you're addressing this from the perspective of what's permittable. And I'm addressing it from the perspective of what's okay for the planet." Chair Joe Berman warned that bringing the plan back without leverage to require changes would be "an empty condition." The commission also approved a 36 Bullard Road order of conditions, three certificates of compliance and a tree-cutting plan at 118 Pine Street.
