Planning Board approves Ridgeway home with pilot salvage condition

WESTON — December 16, 2020 — Weston Planning Board approves 240 Ridgeway teardown with a first-of-its-kind salvage condition. The board voted 5-0 to approve a new 6,837-square-foot home after homeowner Serisha Marku agreed to work with Architectural Salvage Inc. to recycle elements of the existing house, including chimney pots, the fireplace surround, interior doors, the stove, sinks and the bathtub. The applicants also moved the house back an additional five feet, cut lighting from 11,913 to 10,763 lumens, and substituted a tulip tree for a smaller native species out front. Chair Alicia Primer said the goal was to "reduce the amount of dumpster items in Weston from demolition to our town transfer station." The board separately continued three hearings — 18 Columbine Road, 12 Westerly Road, and 55 Hidden Road — to Jan. 6 over drainage, impervious-surface and driveway-gate concerns.
