Conservation Commission approves Sherburne Circle riverfront rebuild and Pollywog Pond plan

WESTON — April 6, 2021 — Weston Conservation Commission clears six projects on departing administrator's last night. The commission unanimously approved a notice of intent for redevelopment at 137 Sherburne Circle, where owner Mario Alagna will demolish and rebuild within Bogle Brook's riverfront area with 940 square feet of native restoration against a required 350, nine Cultec infiltration units, and a relocated septic system. A five-year order of conditions was issued for Friends of Pollywog Pond at 89 Cherry Brook Road, authorizing monitoring-based treatment of invasive aquatics and expanding cattails using the herbicide Clearcast. Builder Jonathan Buckman's 69 Scotch Pine Road home was approved with a recorded 20-foot trail easement required before occupancy, despite member Ellen Freeman Roth pressing on the 24 trees being removed in buffer zones. Chair Joe Berman thanked outgoing Conservation Administrator Michele Grzenda, calling her departure "bittersweet — more bitter than sweet."
