Planning Board continues Warren Place permit pending larger tree replanting plan

WESTON — July 7, 2021 — Weston Planning Board halts Warren Place addition over tree replacement dispute. The board on July 7 continued a wetland and floodplain special permit for Cliff and Amy Nash's home expansion at 15 Warren Place after concluding the proposed planting plan did not meet its canopy replacement standard. Engineer Jack Maloney's floodplain math — 140.3 cubic feet of fill against 583 cubic feet of compensatory storage — drew no objection, with Town Engineer Dave Conway calling it "more than four times fine." But Chair Leslie Glynn and member Alicia Primer rejected the 15 small native plantings developed with the Conservation Commission, with landscape consultant Kim Turner citing the board's standard of 10- to 12-foot evergreens and 2.5-to-3-inch caliper deciduous trees. The same meeting closed hearings on 74 Orchard Avenue, where the house was shifted 10 feet to save three hardwoods and lighting was cut by 1,028 lumens, and advanced site plan amendments at 3 Stone Ridge Lane and 10 Hitching Post. The Warren Place hearing was continued to July 21.
