Conservation Commission approves four orders of conditions in single sitting

WESTON — October 26, 2021 — Weston Conservation Commission approves four projects, backs urban forestry grant in dense Tuesday session. With member Ellen Freeman Roth running the meeting and Chair Rees Tulloss sitting as a member, the commission voted 7-0 to issue orders of conditions for a cantilevered floodplain addition at 5 Warren Place, a full redevelopment at 589 Wellesley Street, a two-town pool and patio project at 0 Falmouth Road, and a garage extension at 100 Montvale Road, where Joe Berman recused himself. Abutters Jerry Scholl of 661 Wellesley Street and Kelly Ford of 36 Falmouth Road raised tree-loss concerns; Berman framed the jurisdictional limit bluntly, saying commission authority is "really, really very limited to the impact on the resource area." Conservation Administrator Jordan McCarron also previewed a Stow-modeled blanket order for Japanese knotweed permitting, and Katya Portenya reported the Weston-Wayland Rotary Club had cut a more than 90 percent black swallowwort infestation at Sears Field.
