Conservation Commission approves four orders of conditions in single sitting

WESTON -- October 26, 2021, Weston Conservation Commission approves four projects, backs urban forestry grant in dense Tuesday session. With member Ellen Freeman Roth running the meeting and Chair Rees Tulloss sitting as a member, the commission voted 7-0 to issue orders of conditions for a cantilevered floodplain addition at 5 Warren Place, a full redevelopment at 589 Wellesley Street, a two-town pool and patio project at 0 Falmouth Road, and a garage extension at 100 Montvale Road, where Joe Berman recused himself. Abutters Jerry Scholl of 661 Wellesley Street and Kelly Ford of 36 Falmouth Road raised tree-loss concerns; Berman framed the jurisdictional limit bluntly, saying commission authority is "really, really very limited to the impact on the resource area." Conservation Administrator Jordan McCarron also previewed a Stow-modeled blanket order for Japanese knotweed permitting, and Katya Portenya reported the Weston-Wayland Rotary Club had cut a more than 90 percent black swallowwort infestation at Sears Field.
