Conservation Commission approves 31 Green Lane permit with heated driveway, 4-0-1

WESTON — August 10, 2021 — Weston Conservation Commission approves heated driveway, lifts gas-grill ban, OKs Rotary beehives. The commission issued an order of conditions for a new home at 31 Green Lane on a 4-0-1 vote after the applicant added a heated hydronic driveway, pervious pavers and pocket plantings along the 25-foot no-disturb zone at the request of Cambridge Water staffer Jamie O'Connell. "There's zero use of any chemicals," project engineer Jay told members of the driveway system. The board issued a certificate of compliance for 105 Newton Street 5-0 despite finding boundary cobbles installed without the required concrete base — meeting chair Joe Berman said the project "is not 100 percent compliant" but cited the Aug. 24 closing date. Members also lifted prior staff objections to propane grills at the community gardens, approved a Weston Forest and Trail wetland-bypass at Highland Forest, and authorized two Weston Rotary beehives at the Sears driveway field.
