Weston ZBA grants car barn permit, continues generator case to May 18
WESTON — May 4, 2022 — Weston ZBA unanimously approved a special permit for a private car barn and continued a generator case at its May 4 meeting. Acting Chair Alan Rose presided with members Stephen LaRock and Natalie Sawyer over three matters. Attorney Brian Grossman of Badich and Dewi secured a 3-0 special permit for a 1,368-square-foot car barn at 441 Glen Road for property owners identified as Lemaitre, with the board citing a combined RGFA of roughly 9,645 square feet — about 4.4 percent of the 217,914-square-foot lot — as well as full setback compliance, as reasons the structure is not substantially more detrimental to the neighborhood. A generator variance request by Laura Mintz and Eli Levine at 46 Old Colony Road was withdrawn without prejudice after the applicants concluded the generator could be relocated to a conforming spot by right. A third matter, a generator special permit for Alyssa Lenore Meinhardt at 147 Sudbury Road, was continued to May 18 after the board determined the proposed placement at 30.3 feet from the side lot line would deepen an existing 34.1-foot nonconformity and likely require the higher variance standard under MGL Chapter 40A, Section 10.
