Weston ZBA continues affordable housing hearing, sets Valentine's Day return date

WESTON — January 17, 2023 — Weston ZBA advances six-unit affordable housing hearing toward a decision, continuing to February 14. The Zoning Board of Appeals voted 3-0 at its January 17 session to carry the Chapter 40B comprehensive permit hearing for 0 Wellesley Street — a Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston project on behalf of the Weston Affordable Housing Trust — to a Valentine's Day noon session via Zoom. Chair Jane Carlson and members Winifred Lee and Steve LaRock reviewed traffic, stormwater, grading, and landscaping presentations from the petitioners' team, concluding that no independent peer reviewer is needed for landscape or architectural matters. The board asked for written sign-off from the Weston Fire Department and a review note from the police, a brief DPW look at the Bryant Associates traffic report, and renewed outreach to the school department over afternoon bus drop-off near the busy Wellesley Street and Boston Post Road intersection. Town Counsel George Pucci of KP Law confirmed he is ready to draft a decision once the evidentiary record closes, with the waiver list set as the central topic for the next hearing.
