Weston ZBA continues 518 South Ave 40B hearing to Nov. 23 without hydrology data

WESTON — October 13, 2021 — Weston ZBA holds 518 South Avenue 40B in limbo pending complete hydrology submission. The board, chaired by Jane Carlson, met Oct. 13 for the first time since Aug. 24 after two prior hydrology reports for the proposed 200-unit rental project were found erroneous. Town counsel John Witten of KP Law told members the only application formally pending is for 200 units and that a two-page 180-unit concept does not meet Housing Appeals Committee submission rules at 760 CMR 56.05. David Hall of the Hanover Company said the redesigned 180-unit plan would generate 6,000 fewer gallons of wastewater daily — dropping from roughly 38,000 to 32,000 — rotate the parking garage 90 degrees, and cut parking from 353 to 293 spaces. Applicant principal Jonathan Buckman agreed to grant the board a fresh 180-day hearing clock from the opening of the next substantive session, expected in mid-December, with the full plan set, MODFLOW analysis and stormwater calculations due by Nov. 22. The board voted 3-0 to continue to Nov. 23.
