Weston Town Meeting approves MBTA zoning plan in 387-86 vote

WESTON — October 15, 2025 — Weston Town Meeting passes MBTA Communities zoning, unlocking 750 units across four districts. The zoning bylaw amendment cleared the required two-thirds threshold 387-86, and a companion amendment to the Boston Properties development agreement passed 332-28. Select Board Chair Lise Revers said a $278,000 state education grant was already being held in abeyance and warned that "compliance is not an option, it is a requirement." Planning Board Chair Leslie Glynn and member Al Adelot presented a three-phase plan for 133 Boston Post Road totaling 100 townhouses, a 280-unit apartment building and 100 age-restricted units. Finance Committee Chair Bharat Venkatraman projected a worst-case $800,000 annual deficit against roughly $12 million in state and federal aid at risk. Voters also approved earth-removal bylaw revisions 264-18 and transferred $18,869.57 to the Friends of the Weston Depot Corporation 225-26.
