Weston Sets August 26 Deadline as MBTA 3A Housing Plan Takes Shape
WESTON — July 24, 2025 — Weston's MBTA 3A Working Group reported progress on a 750-unit housing compliance plan, with Boston Properties expected to submit site proposals by July 25. Select Board Chair Lisa Revers and Planning Board Chair Leslie Glynn said a Wednesday meeting with the developer went well, with the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities signaling a favorable view of using a future relocated Kendall Green station to define the required half-mile housing radius — a shift that would open the entire 133 Boston Post Road parcel for compliant units. Town Planner Ima Ayu briefed the group on consultant options, with Utile submitting a proposal just under $50,000 and a Mass Housing Partnership grant capped at $25,000 available to offset compliance modeling and bylaw review costs. No formal consultant selection was made; members said they would seek input from absent Planning Board member Al Adelot before deciding. The town's Special Town Meeting warrant closes August 26, with public hearings beginning September 3 and a first town meeting targeted for early October — all ahead of a January 1, 2026 state enforcement deadline.
