Weston Select Board adds all members to fire station working group, dissolves governance panel

WESTON — May 13, 2025 — Weston Select Board reorganized Tuesday, dissolved its town governance committee, and embedded all three members in the fire station working group as cost estimates near $53 million. Newly elected Chair Lise N. Revers and Clerk John F. McDonald joined returning member Alfred L. Aydelott for the first meeting of the new term, unanimously authorizing Town Manager Leon Goelman to submit a special act request to the legislature formalizing voter-approved expansion of the board from three to five members. The board approved a $450,000 interest-free MWRA water bond payable over ten years beginning in fiscal 2026, and appointed two neighborhood residents — Ed Winchman and an applicant identified only as Yusuf — to fill the final at-large seats on the Riverside Housing Working Group after a year of vacancies. McDonald drove the motion to dissolve the town government study committee, calling it "in clear opposition to the will of the voters," while Revers noted the committee had "done served its purpose" after the three-to-five vote passed at town meeting. On the Case Estate properties, the board agreed to seek a competitive broker solicitation and pursue MLS listing for the Rand House before re-issuing revised RFPs.
