Weston School Committee adopts five-year strategic plan, signs off on consent warrant

WESTON — June 14, 2021 — Weston School Committee closes pandemic year with strategic plan vote and a 3.75 rating for the superintendent. The committee unanimously adopted its five-year strategic plan and rated Superintendent Midge Connelly "highly proficient" overall, with proficient marks in instructional leadership (3.0) and management and operations (3.5), and highly proficient in family and community engagement and professional culture (3.75 each). Chair Anita Rahman called Connelly's work "exemplary" in "the most difficult year for education in our lifetimes." Assistant Superintendent Kimo Carter, joined by principals Paul Perry and John Gibbons, said the district will follow DESE's "Acceleration Roadmap" — keeping students at grade level with "just-in-time scaffolds" — and flagged roughly 10 secondary students needing credit recovery. WEEFC President Kate Dickey reported $220,000 raised against $131,000 the prior year. The committee also approved a $1,579,111.47 warrant.
