Weston Rail Station Listed Among Massachusetts' Four Most Endangered Historic Sites

WESTON — December 6, 2022 — Preservation Massachusetts names Weston Rail Station one of four most endangered historic resources in the state for 2022. At a brief outdoor ceremony on December 6, Erin Kelly, president and executive director of Preservation Massachusetts, presented a certificate of designation to local officials including Historical Commission member Phyllis Halpern and Town Manager Leon Gauman. The organization, which has tracked endangered resources statewide since 1993, said the listing is designed to launch a collaborative preservation process rather than simply mark the building's decline. Kelly was joined by program and advocacy manager Joe Ritter and preservation circuit rider Stacia Kaplinson, and said "the community commitment for this resource is extremely evident." Representatives from the Select Board, Planning Board, Rail Trail Advisory Committee, and the Weston Historical Society also attended.
