Weston Planning Board Elects Glynn Chair, Continues Church Street Subdivision Hearing

WESTON — June 15, 2022 — Weston Planning Board unanimously elected Leslie Glynn as its new chair and continued a contentious flexible subdivision hearing for 119-121 Church Street to July 13. Outgoing Chair Alicia Freyman nominated Glynn, who accepted on condition she serve one year before returning the role to the full board; member Alex Selvig's brief connection dropout required a short tabling before the five-to-zero vote was completed. The board pressed the Church Street applicant to provide sight-line renderings showing how a proposed new house on Lot 2 — at 5,159 square feet, 14 percent below the allowed maximum — will affect the publicly owned viewscape of the historically protected house at 55 Coburn Road, with Freyman stating, "the town owns the view." The board also heard a roughly $30,000 proposal to restore historic dry-laid stone walls at the Case Estates along Ash, Wellesley, and Newton streets using funds appropriated in 2006, and voted unanimously to continue summer-camp special permit hearings for both Cambridge School of Weston and the town pool project to June 29.
