Weston Planning Board Defers Zero Riverside Rezoning Vote, Lacks Consensus

WESTON — April 2, 2025 — Weston Planning Board split 1-0-1 on whether to recommend a rezoning of Zero Riverside Road to multifamily housing, effectively deferring the decision to its April 16 meeting. The 1.35-acre town-owned parcel has been slated for no more than 20 units since a 2021 land swap and is a linchpin for the town's Chapter 40A Section 3A compliance strategy ahead of the May town meeting. Vice Chair Alex Selvig moved to vote no on the recommendation, Chair Leslie Glynn voted against that motion, and Member Jing Yu abstained, citing a need for more time to confer with Town Planner Emai Yu before casting a vote. Separately, the board closed the public hearing for a revised single-family home at 5 Deer Path Lane — which reduced impervious surface by 1,900 square feet and will add 50 trees — and continued a scenic road site plan for 452 Glen Road pending fire department sign-off on driveway width. A proposed temporary surface parking lot at the Greatland campus on 15 Riverside Road was also tabled after the board's outside consultant delivered review comments hours before the meeting.
