Weston Planning Board Continues Riverside Restaurant Hearing to April 16

WESTON — March 19, 2025 — Weston Planning Board continued a contested restaurant permit hearing, closed three project hearings, and voted to seek a new member at its March 19 meeting. Chair Leslie Glynn opened with a public rebuke of applicants who miss the Monday document deadline, noting two submissions arrived on Tuesday morning and two hours before the gavel, respectively. Terry Ford of Greatland Realty Partners told the board that the May 5 town meeting vote on adding an eating-place use to the Riverside campus zoning is not a vote on operator Craft Food Hall specifically — "the zoning will survive craft" — but neighbors on Blake Road and the surrounding streets raised concerns about weekend traffic and alcohol focus; the hearing was continued 4-0 to April 16. The board also closed a hearing on a 1.3-acre, town-owned zero Riverside parcel proposed for up to 20 units of multifamily housing under a rezoning consistent with a 2021 land-swap agreement, and voted to form a task force with the Conservation Commission to address a state mandate requiring adoption of new FEMA flood maps by July 8, 2025, which affects roughly 35 Weston properties' flood insurance eligibility.
