Planning Board recommends water-tank zoning bylaw, sends amended article to special town meeting

WESTON — March 5, 2025 — Weston Planning Board sends water-tank zoning to special town meeting, defers Riverside restaurant decision. The board voted 4-0 to recommend Article 2 of the citizen's petition as written and a second 4-0 vote endorsed technical amendments from emeritus member Al Aydelott, stripping out a proposed limited site plan review after Vice Chair Sean Lanier argued the planning and select boards' letter of intent already covers that ground. On Greatland Realty Partners' separate proposal to add a 10,000-square-foot restaurant use at the Riverside lab campus, abutters repeatedly called the proposed Craft Food Halls concept a "beer hall in a neighborhood," with one neighbor citing a survey showing 60 percent of 25 respondents opposed; Greatland's Terri Ford countered with offers of a 9:30 p.m. last call and a paid first-year Saturday police detail. The board also approved the Drabbington Inn site plan at 133 North Ave 4-0 and bid farewell to member Lori Hess.
