WESTON — December 3, 2025 — Weston Planning Board unanimously continues contentious 56 Ridgeway Road hearing after applicant threatens 40B development. At the December 3 meeting, Chair Leslie Glynn and Vice Chair Alex Selvig led deliberations on a proposed contemporary single-family home of roughly 12,050 square feet on a three-acre scenic-road parcel, citing persistent concerns about massing, non-residential scale, and late submission of revised materials — which arrived the afternoon of the hearing. The applicant warned mid-session that he would abandon the single-family plan and pursue a 40B affordable-housing project of more than 20 townhouses, declaring, "We're going to come back with a completely different plan." Direct abutters Dan Jones of 80 Ridgeway Road and Rob Trummel confirmed they had met with the applicant the night before but said their outreach was not a rubber-stamp endorsement of the project. The board also voted unanimously to approve removal of a diseased double oak tree at 49 Webster Street, conditioned on a fungus management plan, after testimony that the tree suffers from oak wilt and blister rust; and approved the decision for zero Wellesley Street with a confirmed 31-for-31 tree replacement.
