Weston Planning Board Continues All Four Active Hearings to Later Dates

WESTON — June 1, 2022 — Weston Planning Board continued all four active hearings without approvals at its June 1 meeting. Chair Leslie Glynn led a three-hour remote session covering the Artisan Child Care Center at 863 Boston Post Road, a Church Street flexible subdivision for the Fitzgerald property, a new intake for 355 Highland Avenue, and the 96 Love Lane flexible subdivision proposal. The Love Lane project drew the sharpest scrutiny: the proposed 8,620-square-foot home is 986 square feet over the subdivision's 10 percent size threshold, and board members objected to a stone veneer facade as "inappropriate" next to a significant historic house. The board also flagged two prohibited spotlight fixtures and a lumen count of 19,763 against a 16,000-lumen cap. At 863 Boston Post Road, applicants clarified that a contested parking-lot planting strip ranges from five feet, three inches to nine feet wide, not the three feet initially stated, and were asked to return with large-scale section drawings and photographs of the fence line. The Rivers Camp hearing was closed unanimously after no Natick abutters appeared to comment.
