Weston names interim DPW director, sets March 12 water tank Special Town Meeting

WESTON — February 13, 2025 — Weston names interim DPW director and resets water tank vote for March 12. The Select Board on Feb. 11 appointed 20-plus-year department veteran Richard Sullivan as interim public works director after Tom Cullen left for a position with the Commonwealth. The board also heard that a proposed restaurant at the Greatlands development on Riverside Road would require both a special act increasing Weston's restaurant pouring licenses — currently effectively limited to the Weston Golf Club — and a zoning change. Members appointed Alice Benson to the Town Government Study Committee, authorized the Regional Housing Services Office to market a moderate-income unit on Livermore Road, and authorized Town Manager Leon Gaumond to send a letter supporting Gov. Maura Healey's Municipal Empowerment Act. At a Feb. 12 hybrid session, the board finalized an owner's project manager RFQ for the water tank project, to be sent to about five firms, with Tom Palmer confirming the borrowing amount is unchanged from the fall town meeting figure.
