WESTON — October 3, 2018 — Weston Historical Commission approves Josiah Smith Tavern accessibility variance approach and acts on three demolition delay cases at October 3 meeting. The commission heard from project architects Daniel Bass and Wendy Frontieri that design development for the tavern renovation is on track for a December milestone, with a Community Preservation Committee funding application due in January 2019 and public bidding expected in April; structural engineering findings detailed failing timber joints, insect damage, and two deteriorating chimneys that may require concrete-and-steel reinforcement.
