Weston Conservation Commission Ratifies Enforcement Order, Continues Three Permit Hearings

WESTON — April 29, 2025 — Weston Conservation Commission ratifies enforcement order against Orchard Avenue property owner for unpermitted wetland buffer clearing. Member Glenn Butcher chaired the April 29 meeting in place of absent Chair Rees Tulloss, with members Robert Mosher, Eileen Fava, and Alison Fronk Barlow also present. The commission voted unanimously to ratify an enforcement order the conservation agent issued April 16 against the owner of 32 Orchard Avenue, where extensive tree clearing and lawn expansion within the buffer zone of a pond on the neighboring 17 Blake Road property was discovered in April 2024; a neighbor has since reported that altered drainage is sending water onto her property. The owner, who met with town staff in October 2024 and then went silent, has been summoned to appear at the May 13 meeting or face referral to the state Department of Environmental Protection. The commission also unanimously approved an Eagle Scout administrative permit for a pressure-treated retaining wall at the College Pond warming hut and continued three active permit hearings — 57 Oxbow Road, the Ash Street sidewalk and road reclaim project, and 473 Concord Road — all to May 13.
