Weston Conservation Commission approves 44 Page Road rebuild, tables North Avenue permit extension

WESTON — January 20, 2026 — Weston Conservation Commission approves a demolition-rebuild at 44 Page Road and stalls a decade-old permit extension at 403 North Avenue. The commission voted 6-0 at its January 20 remote meeting to close the Notice of Intent hearing for 44 Page Road and issue an Order of Conditions for applicant Jinshan Shen's proposed raze-and-rebuild project, which includes 2,300 square feet of native ecological restoration along Hobbs Brook within the 200-foot Riverfront Area. The approval is conditioned on Shen obtaining a Certificate of Action from the Planning Board, which was scheduled to take up the project January 21. On a separate matter, the commission tabled a requested three-year extension of a 2016 permit for a still-unbuilt house at 403 North Avenue — a permit that expires in April 2026 — citing concerns about site changes over 10 years, the lack of abutter notification, and the fact that under current regulations a new Notice of Intent would require 300-foot rather than 100-foot abutter notification. Conservation Administrator Jordan McCarron will send commissioners the original plans and Order of Conditions, and the commission will conduct a site visit before deciding whether to grant the extension or require a new application. The commission also discussed creating a six-space gravel parking area on conservation land at the end of Indian Hill Road, a proposal that hinges on a legal opinion from Town Attorney Katie Klein on whether new parking can be established on Article 97-protected land.
