Select Board refers Riverside Labs restaurant zoning to Planning Board hearing
WESTON — February 11, 2025 — Weston Select Board sends Riverside Labs restaurant zoning to Planning Board as neighbors split. The 3-0 vote refers Greatland Realty's proposed "eating place" zoning amendment for a Kraft Food Hall venue at the campus to a public hearing, ahead of a two-thirds Town Meeting vote in May; a companion all-beverages liquor license remains under discussion. Greatland's Terry Ford said the 10,000-square-foot venue is needed because tenants find the lab campus "feels empty." Sylvan Mintz of 8 Blake Road presented a neighborhood survey showing 61 percent of 23 respondents opposed, while Marcy Lober of 36 Tamarack committed to file a citizens' petition for the license. The board also unanimously appointed Richard Sullivan interim DPW director, voted 2-1 to seat Alice Benson on the Town Government Study Committee, and authorized the Regional Housing Services Office to market the $456,000 moderate-income unit at 1 Livermore — the town's last — before a June 11 deadline.
