School Committee ratifies vaccine-data MOA with teachers union in emergency session

WESTON — August 31, 2021 — Weston School Committee ratifies vaccine-data MOA with teachers in five-minute emergency meeting. The committee voted 5-0 Tuesday morning to approve a memorandum of agreement with the Weston Education Association dated Aug. 26, 2021, the sole item on an emergency-noticed agenda. The chair said the meeting was called on short notice because the union had ratified the document only the previous evening and the district needed a signed agreement "in place so they could begin collecting vaccine data from the teachers." Members identified on the roll as Danielle, Allison, Atiyah and Ken joined the chair in voting aye. A motion to adjourn passed by the same 5-0 margin moments later. No public comment was taken and no future meeting date was announced.
