Planning Board readies September decision on 576 North Ave. subdivision

WESTON — July 29, 2020 — Weston Planning Board signals September approval for 576 North Ave. flexible subdivision. Engineer Rob Gemma of Metrowest Engineering presented the Phase 1 limit-of-clearing plan covering road, utilities, demolition and construction staging for the six-lot project. Member Stephen Oppenheimer pushed to cap two lots at one-and-a-half stories so the taller houses would sit in the natural depression, but attorney Jay Tallerman, representing the owners, called the restriction "a really bitter pill for us to swallow" that would gut the project's marketability. Chair Alicia Primer said no consensus formed and the board moved on. The hearing remains open for a Sept. 9 decision. The board also closed hearings 4-0 on 36 Church Street and 33 Viles Street, approved memo-based removal of three hazardous trees at 512 Glen Road conditioned on replanting before certificate of occupancy, and adopted a new standard stormwater as-built condition.
