WESTON — February 7, 2024 — Weston Planning Board signals expanded screening at 121 Church St., approves Merriam pool. The board on Feb. 7 continued remediation review of the 121 Church Street site, where as-built slopes reach 1.8-to-1 and the edge of disturbance extends up to 22.3 feet beyond the approved limit of work; Chair Leslie Glynn said all fill beyond the line must be hauled off, and member Alicia Primer warned against accepting "a wall of mulch" in place of the lost forest. The board unanimously approved a site plan amendment for a pool and porches at 1 Merriam with conditions requiring 70 percent native shrubs and trees by quantity and a closed gate on the utility-area screen. On 16 Peaks Lane, Town Planner Imai measured 50 decibels at the walkway near a FAST-system blower, 10 above the town's 40-decibel property-line standard, prompting the board to direct that the electrical-panel enclosure and vent pipes be combined inside a single acoustically treated structure.
