Planning Board approves North Avenue fire rebuild, reelects Glynn chair for final year
WESTON — May 22, 2024 — Weston Planning Board reelects Leslie Glynn chair and clears North Avenue fire-rebuild site plan. Chair Leslie Glynn won a 3-0 reelection vote with one abstention and told the board "I will do it for one more year, but I'm not doing it for a minute after one year"; vice chair election was deferred to June 5 so absent member Timothy Shawn Lanier can accept. The board unanimously approved Eric and Stephanie DiGiulio's plan to rebuild 479 North Avenue on its existing foundation after an April 2023 mulch fire, with architect Alan Mayer of Mayer and Associates trimming porch downlights from six to four. Members also waived the standard $1,400 newspaper-advertising fee to roughly $531 — the actual Boston Herald cost — and approved a 111-square-foot addition at 14 Warren Lane with compensatory flood storage. Vice Chair Alex Selvig pressed applicants at 3 Clifford Lane to reconsider a below-grade propane tank ahead of Weston's July 1 specialized energy code.
