Kendal Common study group plans Crescent Street and Moon Hill tours

WESTON — February 20, 2025 — Kendal Common study group will pursue two neighborhood tours and a town counsel review. Meeting Feb. 20, the Kendal Common Local Historic District Study Group agreed to organize tours of Weston's Crescent Street historic district and Lexington's 29-house Moon Hill mid-century modern neighborhood, both prompted by new Saunders House owner and Babson economics professor Mahdi Majbouri. Neighborhood representative Rick Brotman reported roughly half of Kendal Common households were represented at a "generally positive" annual meeting and that a resident committee has now formed. Chair Alicia Primer will draft a letter to Town Manager Leon Gaumond asking town counsel to review whether the Crescent Street bylaw model can be adapted to a voluntary, expandable district, saying "we need some legal advice on how that would work, if it can work." Architect David Fixler's joint guidelines document with Henry Stone is in circulation for member edits. Minutes were approved unanimously; next meeting is March 13.
