Kendal Common committee plans written, web and video outreach rollout

WESTON — October 13, 2022 — Kendal Common Study Committee sequences a written, web and video introduction to the historic Weston neighborhood. At its Oct. 13 meeting, members agreed to publish a one-page historical summary by member David first, launch a dedicated committee landing page on the town website with members, mission and timeline, and then release a short introductory video produced by member Rick from a recorded Zoom session. Consultant Stacey Spies has begun Phase 1 of her Massachusetts Historical Commission-approved contract, surveying field cards and permit archives for what was scoped as 105 buildings — currently 99 on the list — with an approximate Oct. 28 deadline and overall work continuing through next summer. Member Alicia pressed for a visible timeline so residents understand the multi-year schedule, warning they "probably think it's going to be happening sooner." Members also asked staff for an update on the French Road house stop-work order, which Rick called "our poster child." Next meeting: Nov. 10 at 9:30 a.m.
