Kendal Common committee defers town meeting article to 2024

WESTON — November 23, 2022 — Kendal Common Study Committee pushes preservation article to May 2024 town meeting at earliest. Members met remotely Nov. 23 and agreed the spring 2023 annual town meeting is out of reach, with December 2023 special town meeting "ambitious" and May 2024 the realistic target. Christine Grant reported the Massachusetts Historical Commission consultant, Stacey, has completed Phase 1 of the survey and will sample Kendal Common addresses in Phase 2. Committee member David, who is leading a Getty Conservation Institute module on conserving modern architecture, deferred a planned introductory video, saying he felt no urgency before the consultant's product is in hand. The committee will launch a town webpage in mid-January and send a joint email through Chantal of the Lexington Street Neighborhood Association, noting three of the neighborhood's 20 houses are now rented.
