Conservation Commission issues enforcement order at 168 Beaver Road over removed plantings

WESTON — November 17, 2020 — Weston Conservation Commission issues enforcement order after 168 Beaver Road mitigation plantings vanish. The commission voted 6-0 Nov. 17 to order restoration of riverfront plantings required by a 2018 permit and then voted 6-0 to issue a new order of conditions allowing retaining walls, a fence, an expanded patio and grading work at the same property, conditioned on prior approval of a new landscape plan. Conservation Administrator Michelle, reviewing photos from a restoration designed by Karen Sebastian, said the mitigation area had been replaced with lawn since the property changed hands: "I literally spent three years and 10 site visits and an enforcement order and monitoring it, and two years goes by and this is what we're dealing with." Members also approved a 16-by-32-foot pool, 757-square-foot cabana and 870 square feet of patio at 295 Glen Road; an amended order and drainage notice of intent at 12 Westerly Road requiring the existing drainage pipe stay in service until the replacement is built; and a minor plan change to keep gravel rather than pave the 71 Concord Road driveway.
