Conservation Commission approves Deer Path garage, continues Byron Road hearing
WESTON — February 2, 2021 — Weston Conservation Commission approves Deer Path Lane garage and presses AstraZeneca for a formal wetland filing. The commission voted 5-0 to issue an order of conditions for a 590-square-foot garage addition at 29 Deer Path Lane (DEP file 337-1401) presented by Dan Wells of Goddard Consulting. A continued hearing on 14 Byron Road was pushed to Feb. 23 after engineer Mark and LEC Environmental's Rich Kirby presented a redesigned stormwater system and a three-zone invasive-removal plan; attorney George Highland called the negotiations with abutters "very non-adversarial, very productive." On a non-hearing AstraZeneca discussion, VHB's Christopher Wagner argued no Weston filing was required for parking expansion adjacent to two isolated wetlands. Chair Joe Berman and member Alison Fronk Barlow disagreed. "It just seems kind of weird as Conservation Commission," Barlow said. Administrator Michelle warned an enforcement order could compel a Request for Determination. The commission also issued certificates of compliance for the South Side Drainage Phase 1 and two Glenn Road files.
