Board approves library tree-planting plan from advisory group.

WESTON — Library board endorses tree planting on grounds and approves revised collection strategy. The Board of Library Trustees unanimously approved a proposal from the Tree Advisory Group to plant drought-tolerant trees on library property, with Eversource donating the trees and Buildings and Grounds staff handling installation, according to Director Jenn Warner's report. Assistant Director Alli Palmgren outlined ongoing collection weeding, with the library reducing duplicate materials and focusing purchasing on multiple copies of popular titles prioritized for Weston residents and patrons.
The board also received a report from Art in Common coordinator Cecily Cassum on a separate AIC budget and interim fundraising goals of $40,000 over six months, with the library pursuing independent Finance Committee budget review.
